SFLL is a husband and wife team with the ideal combination of education, training and experience. Simply stated, Karen undertakes the project design and Michael is responsible for building it.
Karen obtained a BA in Geography from SFU and went on to study Horticulture at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She then got her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from UBC and worked in the public sector as a Consultant and Environmental Planner in the Lower Mainland.
Karen continues to use her education and experience as a volunteer on the Halfmoon Bay Community Plan Advisory Group. She is also a member of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society.
Michael has a wide range of landscaping experience beginning in the 1980’s, ultimately leading to the creation of his own landscaping business in 1997. He also has carpentry training from BCIT and worked for many years in the construction industry in the Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast.
Michael is also a member of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society.
